Dr Kelly Thornbury is a fully qualified Specialist Plastic Surgeon.
Dr Thornbury completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Radiation Science (Diagnostic), with merit, and was then selected to study Medicine, graduating with distinction and awarded the prestigious Carl Mason Memorial Prize at the University of Newcastle. Dr Thornbury was subsequently accepted into the RACS accredited Plastic and Reconstructive Surgical
training program, working in major public hospital surgical units recognised for excellence in Australia and internationally. Her surgical training included plastic and reconstructive, burns and hand surgery. Dr Thornbury gained aesthetic surgery experience while under the mentorship of leading specialist plastic surgeons in private hospitals. Additionally, during
clinical training, Dr Thornbury completed a Master’s Degree in Surgery at the University of Sydney, conducting research on the surgical management of paediatric craniofacial surgery and burns surgery.
